Surgeon Simulator began as a game-jam project and made clumsy controls part of the joke instead of something to polish away. The player-facing version of the idea is simple. Comedy in games has one advantage over comedy in film: the player can become the punchline by personally causing the disaster. The more normal the objective sounds, the funnier it becomes when the controls refuse to cooperate.
